Is the SDA Church Infallible?

Chikonga Gwaba
Dear Friends & Colleagues,
It has become apparent to me that the
Seventh Day Adventist Church in North America has lost its Identity and is
now wondering after the ways of the world and those of the Evangelical
Charismatic movement. We used to be a conservative movement who's foundation
was based on BIBLE ONLY "sola scripta" but those days seem to be far behind
us now. The music in our churches today would probably give God's Messenger
sister White a heart attack! It is nothing shot of a bedlam of noise with a
mention of the Lord's name here and there. Listen to the songs that are sung
in your churches. It all seems to be copied from the likes of Kirk Franklyn,
Yolanda Adams and others in the Celebration movement. Nevertheless, this
should not really surprise me because one of the Enemies' specialty is
Music.
Dress reform is out of the window. I
have seen Men in our churches wearing ear rings. I have seen some men wear
Make-up. I have seen women dress in such a way that nothing was left to the
imagination. In the old days we used to worry about long slits, these days I
have noticed that women are wearing "Victoria’s secretes" night dresses in
church. See throughs, hip huggers e.t.c are now the norm. I have seen women
who wore their clothing in a way that showed so much cleavage that all the
Babies in Church would cry for milk. Some of you are dismissive of all these
strange things as being tolerable. But I say you are Blind if you hold that
position.
I have found that My beliefs are
closer to those of The Reformed Seventh Day Adventist Church than those of
the main stream SDA church in North America. I have found comfort in such
Ministries as Hope international with Elder Ron Spear and their "Our Firm
Foundation Publication." A personal friend of mine, Pastor David Ashreck has
also been a consoling force these days. I wish there were more men like
Elder Samuel K. Pippim (Sp?) and Elders Collin and Russell Standish.
                                       Our learning institutions like
Oakwood, Andrews, Loma Linda e.t.c have become a breading ground for a new
group of ministers. This group is preaching what we call the New Theology.
It is subtle and dangerous. These ministers have no confidence in the
writings of God's servant, Sr. Ellen G. White. Their doctrines are very
similar to those of the Charismatic movement and are based on Calvinism and
Augustinian Theology. These are dangerous times to be alive!! Calvinism is
to me, the most dangerous doctrine in the History of mankind. We are reaping
the fruits of the mistaken theology of Desmond Ford and others in the 70s.
I think the likes of Barry Black and
Elder Witney Fipps are compromised through their celebrity status. People
like George Knight and the current president of Oakwood college are very
suspicious fellows to me. I do not know where Elder Mwansa stands. The new
wind of change is so strong so unstoppable that even powerful men like
Elders Brooks, Bradford and EE Cleaveland  have been silenced. I know it
must hurt these men inside to see the current plight if the church.
Women ordination has won in North
America and the church in Zambia and the rest of Africa is being coerced to
accept this unbiblical dogma. Now, let me hasten to say that I believe in
women’s ability to do many things in the church even better than their male
counterparts. But I just do not find women ordination as Pastors and Elders
as being Biblical. But this issue is probably a non essential to my
salvation and I therefore don’t let it bother me too much.
I believe the General Conference is
NOW in apostasy. God help us, but I hope I am wrong. It is amazing to see
the depth of the Machinations which the G.C uses to have its way on church
matters. Open your eyes my friend!! How they manipulate the voting at the
G.C sessions in church matters such as women ordination is just amazing. It
seems policies are now formulated at the top and forced down to the
grassroots member rather than from the Bottom upwards.  Contrary to council
from inspiration, the G.C has taken many people to courts of law all over
this globe. I have heard that abortions are now being performed at some
Adventist hospitals. I don't have a hard time believing that because most of
the Medical professionals in our Hospitals are not Adventists. It is also no
wonder why we have deviated from natural remedies and wholelistic Health
care to the traditional Drugs (Poisons) that the world uses.
In the heading of this writing, I
ask the question "Is this Church infallible?"... Is it beyond apostasy? As
good Adventists we often comfort ourselves with quotations from the spirit
of prophesy like "The church will appear to fall but it does not fall...."
"The reformation must take place within the church" and therefore we are
instructed not to leave the church. Sometimes I wonder if there won't be a
time when it will be impossible to stay in the main stream Adventist church.
I also wonder if when Sister White says the Church will not fall, if she is
not actually talking about God's true remnant Church which is comprised of
true worshipers and followers of Christ who are scattered all over the Globe
and not necessarily the Organizational SDA church. I wonder!!

In closing let me make a
prediction. I believe that the SDA Church in Black Africa will sever its
ties from the rest of organizational Adventism within the next 15 years (If
the Lord delays his coming long enough). I believe the issue that will be
the final nail in the coffin will be that of Homosexuality. I believe this
issue will divide us in ways that you have never imagined. Pray for this
Church and do what you must to stand up for the Old time religion that has
sustained this Church and made it Great.
